Collaborations

How brand collabs can become your restaurant marketing bae

We heart collabs

A strategic brand collab is a professional relationship that can be super easy to instigate and navigate - and yield remarkable results. When two brands come together, you’re able to offer a unique service, campaign or product that’s not usually available to your customers. And people love something new and shiny and original, right? You’ll both get increased market share because you’re leveraging each other’s audiences PLUS collabs can be a lot less expensive than digital advertising. Talk about #relationshipgoals

A well thought out collab can hit many bullseyes for brand and revenue amplification. If you’re looking to:

  • Increase brand awareness

  • Grow your email database

  • Boost your Instagram and Meta engagement

  • Increase sales

  • Increase your domain authority and improve SEO (say what now?)

…then a collab is for you.

Example opportunity

We’ve picked out a potential couple from our client list that we think would make for a passionate collab, Pinot & Picasso x Sandoitchi

Our client Pinot & Picasso (P&P) hosts boozy, fun art classes, from novice to Dutch master. There are drop-in classes in their studios, or there are also hen’s parties, birthdays, corporate team building etc. They have 26 locations in NSW alone, with several classes hosted in their studio per week. Groups can also hire out the space exclusively for their paint and sip session as well as organise for sessions to be held off-site. That’s potentially two sessions on site a day of up to 40 people a session (just in-house).

At a P&P class, you’re encouraged to BYO booze and food. This is great news for a nearby cafe or bottle shop. We’re going to use the example of Sandoitchi on Oxford Street, Sydney, which is close to P&P’s Surry Hills location. Hypothetically, Sandoitchi would want to become friends with P&P and strike up a collaboration with them for a few reasons.

What’s in it for Sandoitchi?

The Surry Hills studio for P&P could include Sandoitchi’s catering and food delivery as part of their offering.

But more than that, Sandoitchi is now in front of P&Ps audience

If P&P featured Sandoitchi on the website, with a link, that link would help Sandoitchi’s SEO

Sandoitchi could directly get more orders, every time a customer books P&P.

Sandoitchi could get multiple catering orders every week!!

What’s in it for Pinot & Picasso?

Why would P&P want to be in on this relationship? What’s in it for them?

Sandoichi has a massive local following, with 15.5k Instagram followers and queues out the door most days. Sandoitchi may post about the partnership direct to Insta, helping to promote the Surry Hills studio.

P&P could create a special art class with a Japanese or sando theme, creating a unique opportunity that could help them differentiate in the crowded Paint & Sip market and appeal to Sandoitchi customers.

A link from the Sandoitchi website to P&P’s website would not only help P&Ps SEO, but could potentially lead to more awareness and enquiries. Imagine if all 70+ Pinot & Picasso studios each did a collaboration with a food brand and local bottle shop. That could generate over 100 industry and locally relevant links (sky rocketing SEO) but also imagine how many Instagram feeds and newsletter databases P&P could be featured on. And this is all for free.

Crushing it

In a collaboration like this, there’s also an opportunity to push content across different calendars. In the hospitality landscape, a lot of restaurants, bars and cafes celebrate the same public holidays (ie. Melbourne Cup) and special food holidays (International Whiskey Day). By working with another industry (Arts, culture and lifestyle) Sandoitchi is able to increase sales during new periods like school holidays.
